The Primary Program:
Admission is available to children three years of age by September 1 st, provided they are fully bathroom trained. Our new student population is made up primarily of children ages 3 to 4 years old. Non-Montessori trained 4 1/2 year olds are considered on a space available basis for their age group. Approximately 1/3 of each class are 3-year-olds, 1/3 are 4-year-olds, and 1/3 are 5 to 6-year-olds. Approximately 1/2 of each class are girls and 1/2 are boys.

The Elementary Program:
Elementary students must be six years old as of September of the new school year. This is a class limited to 32 students. It is comprised of first through sixth grade students. The majority of the students have previous Montessori pre-school/kindergarten experience. We strive to maintain a balance between boys and girls.

Families are encouraged to visit prior to enrolling in one of our programs. Enrollment for Summer and Fall begins in late January for currently enrolled students, their siblings, alumni families, and transfer children from other Montessori Schools and West Hills Early Childhood Learning Center. These families have a two-week period to enroll before we begin Open Enrollment in mid-February.

To allow you to get to know our school and programs better, "Evenings of Introduction," or Open Houses, are held prior to Open Enrollment. Applications for new enrollees will be evaluated in the order that they are received.

Enrollment:
A registration form as well as the non-refundable registration fee ($250.00 for new students) is sent to the school. Families will then be notified in a timely manner as to whether the school has an opening and that their child is guaranteed placement. When classes are filled, a child will be placed on a "waiting list" (see below) and the registration fee will be returned.

Waiting List:
When our class lists are full we begin a list of students who are waiting for openings. Many openings occur between Spring and the beginning of the school year in the Fall. When openings occur we contact families who are waiting for space. Children are placed according to the needs of the class. An example might be that a class needs more three-year-old boys or an older student to fill out an afternoon work group. The wait list is then consulted and families are called advising them of a space. Our list of families on the wait list does not carry over from year to year. Registration fees are charged only to families who are reserving a space in our classes, not to those who are waiting. Our Office Director handles all enrollments.
